We always aim to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable.
“The best B&B ever” On arrival at Heather Cottage we were warmly greeted by
Angela & Peter with a very welcome cup of tea and superb homemade carrot cake.
The biggest surprise of all was being the lucky 500th guests and so
qualifying for a free stay, which for us was 2 nights. So yes folks -
it's a real deal! The house was beautiful and our bedroom had every comfort
including homemade biscuits to enjoy with tea and coffee plus a jug of fresh
milk in the fridge - none of that horrid plastic pot long life stuff. Lots of
variety on the breakfast menu, extremely tasty, especially the fresh eggs from
the family's own hens. The amazing restored Edwardian rock garden was definitely
worth a visit - what a labour of love. Great walking, good food in village at
pub and tearoom. Masses of local information provided by Angela & Peter and
really nothing was too much trouble - felt truly cared about. We have booked a
return stay to be pampered again and enjoy some more walking in the Dales. "We feel like we are staying with old friends or

are the perfect hosts for this superb Edwardian setting. We have loved the
authentic atmosphere indoors as much as the rugged scenery and bracing air
outdoors; not to mention the quality cuisine that seems to abound in the area.

we have stayed in many over the past ten years or so in our annual pilgrimage to
see our family. First in the wonderful company of the owners who are
exceptionally friendly, to the superb breakfast--so many choices I might
add--to the luxury fitted & spotlessly-clean bedroom en-suite, with its
beautiful decor, which wouldn't be out of place in a five star hotel!
Along with a nice firm mattress from which we arose in the morning refreshed
